2011 Tour

John will be touring theatres around the UK in Spring 2011 with his amazing stories and images. www.speakersfromtheedge.com

The Birth of a Mountain

Deep beneath the silent icecap of Eyjafjallajokull in Iceland, a cataclysmic seismic event was unfolding. On the morning of 21st March 2010 molten magma a thousand feet under the glacier was building up pressure and forcing it’s way through fissures in the earth’s crust beneath the glacial ice cap. I travelled immediately to Iceland to witness this potentially spectacular event. Little did I know that in less than 24 hrs this volcano would awaken into a giantess, a cloud of volcanic ash that would cause mayhem in the airspaces of the northern hemisphere.

See John's interview about his experiences on CBS News.

The Wild North

John will soon returning to the Arctic lands with his photo adventure holidays, in a series of journeys called “The Wild North”, that will take him to East Greenland , Iceland and the Canadian North.
